Join us as we go exploring with a scientist in the remote waters off the island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic.

Find out more about what an expedition at sea involves and what life is like on a research vessel and see some of the amazing animals being discovered in the deep ocean.

    Sessions are 12.30-1.00 and 2.30-3.00

    FREE TO SEE

From Ground to Gallery – 29 September

The Museum’s fossil collection is world-renowned and includes not only famous dinosaurs but also plants, marine reptiles and Ice Age mammals, to name a few.

These collections are essential in helping scientists reconstruct and understand what life on Earth was like millions of years ago. But how does a fossil get from under the ground to on display in the gallery?

Meet Fossil Preparator Mark Graham who will share the different ways he prepares fossils for both research and display, and see some of the specimens he has worked on.

    Sessions are 12.30-1.00 and 2.30-3.00

    FREE TO SEE
