    1. Angela Opera: Passion, Power and Politics - Victoria and Albert Museum

Strongly recommended if you enjoy opera. This is an ambitious, imaginatively mounted, exhibition that succeeds in conveying some of the emotional power of opera, its beauty, and its place in European culture. As you move round the exhibition space the headphones pick up where you are and respond accordingly – with ravishing music at times. Seven premieres in different cities are presented. You learn about the historic development of opera and its links with politics (e.g. Italy) and visual arts (e.g. painting in Germany in the early 20th century). I enjoyed them music less as we came to modern times, also the headphones didn’t always function properly – though when they did the sound quality was excellent.
